Roanoke house of worship has website hacked Beth Israel Synagogue members have no idea why it was targeted

Members of a Roanoke congregation are shocked and disappointed after someone hacked their website.
A hacking group called Ayyildiz based out of Turkey in the Middle East is responsible for the hack.
The group's message read "Death to Israel" and we're told it also included other anti-Semitic slurs. No critical information was stolen or compromised.  The webmaster was in the process of upgrading the website when he noticed the hack.

Tomer Bitton said, "I started working on it at 10 am, and when I entered the website to back everything up again, to continue the backup, I saw a huge banner "Death to Israel" kind of wordings."
This hacking group has claimed responsibility for hacking sites like this before and posting anti-Semitic language. The synagogue's website was quickly fixed and many members at Beth Israel didn't even know about it until the rabbi told them.http://www.wdbj7.com/news/wdbj7-local-house-of-worship-has-website-hacked-20130425,0,2100570.story

Israeli Foreign Ministry staff seek department improvements oh the butthurts coming out now post op-israel blues

Israeli Foreign Ministry staff members, saying the department was "hacked to pieces," are seeking a full-time minister and demand improved working conditions.
Several Israeli diplomats stationed abroad told The Times of Israel Thursday that labor sanctions are disrupting their work and warned the dispute could turn into a full-blown strike if the issues remain unaddressed.
Not only are diplomats fighting for improved working conditions and better pay, they also object that Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu appointed himself as stand-in foreign minister until the legal problems faced by former Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman are ruled on in court.
Because of his workload, Netanyahu hasn't always had the time to meet personally with visiting foreign dignitaries, The Times of Israel said.
Ministry staff members are also concerned over Netanyahu's decision to divide the ministry's responsibilities and create new posts for incoming ministers, the report said.
Examples include appointing Yuval Steinitz to head a newly formed International Relations Ministry and charge Justice Minister Tzipi Livni with presiding over peace negotiations with the Palestinians.
"A new government was formed and the Foreign Ministry was hacked to pieces," a diplomatic source told the website, "so the workers' union added this [concern] to its banner. Of course in our discussions with the Finance Ministry we cannot demand of the prime minister to appoint a foreign minister. But it's part of the anger."
With a labor dispute in effect since January, diplomatic staff have stopped sending email and diplomatic cables. Visits abroad by a number of Israeli dignitaries were canceled after the ministry failed to supply them with the necessary diplomatic passports, the site said.
Yair Frommer, head of the ministry's workers' union, warned if the issues aren't dealt with in the coming days, Netanyahu's trip to China next month and that of President Shimon Peres to the Vatican next week, could be jeopardized, the website said.

Hacker tweets fake White House attack using Associated Press account, Dow Jones drops 150 points lulz Syrian Electronic Army!

Hackers took control of the Associated Press Twitter account on Tuesday and sent a false tweet of two explosions in the White House that briefly sent US financial markets reeling.
In the latest high-profile hacking incident involving social media service Twitter, an official @APaccount reported that two explosions at the White House injured President Barack Obama.
AP spokesman Paul Colford quickly confirmed the tweet was "bogus," but within 3 minutes of the tweet hitting the Web, virtually all U.S. markets took a plunge on the false news in what one trader described as "pure chaos."
White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters that Obama was fine soon after the tweet went out a little after 1pm EDT.
Markets quickly recovered their losses after the tweet was knocked down. Some traders blamed automatic electronic trading for the sharp fall and bounce back.
At a time when cybersecurity and hacking have become top national security concerns, Twitter and its reach to hundreds of millions of users is coming under growing scrutiny for the risk of data breaches on the site.
A group calling itself the Syrian Electronic Army, which is supportive of that country's leader, President Bashar al-Assad, during the two-year civil war, on Tuesday claimed responsibility on its own Twitter feed for the AP hack.
The group, which creates new Twitter accounts every time the company suspends its old ones, has recently also claimed credit for similar hacks of Twitter accounts for National Public Radio, BBC and CBS's "60 Minutes" program, among others.
The AP's two Twitter accounts, @AP and @AP_Mobile, were suspended shortly after the fake tweet, and the news organization later reported hackers had previously made repeated attempts to steal the passwords of AP journalists.
A Twitter spokesman declined to comment on the AP breach, saying the company does not comment "on individual accounts for privacy and security reasons." An FBI representative had no immediate comment on the AP hacking incident.
The spate of recent hacks have again turned the spotlight on what critics deem to be Twitter's thin security offerings. For years, security experts have called on the San Francisco company to introduce a measure called two-factor authentication that they say would greatly reduce such breaches.
In recent months, Twitter has appeared to respond by hiring security experts and posting job listings for software engineers who could help the company roll out two-factor authentication.
MARKETS JUMP
The false "BREAKING" tweet, which went out to the AP's nearly 2 million Twitter followers, sent the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average falling sharply before they recovered. Stock and bond futures also were affected.
The three-minute plunge triggered by the tweet briefly wiped out $136.5 billion of the S&P 500 index's value, according to Reuters data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average temporarily dropped 143.5 points, or 0.98 percent.
A spokesman for the Securities and Exchange Commission declined to comment.
"It puts into perspective our increasing dependence on technology and communications," said Bill Baruch, senior market strategist at iiTRADER.com.
"As we put more and more trust in technology for our communications, it brings us back to reality in the sense that these communications are easily misconstrued, easily hacked, so not only can people put out false information, but they can capitalize on it."
Earlier this year, Bloomberg's professional trading platform started incorporating tweets. On Tuesday, spokeswoman Sabrina Briefel said the fake tweet did appear on the Bloomberg terminal. She said the company was not reconsidering its decision to include tweets.
The AP is the latest media organization to come under siege from hackers in a spate of high profile incidents over the past several months. The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal said their systems were hacked, prompting the White House and lawmakers to push through legislation that will help better defend against cyber attacks. [ID: nL1N0BTCNQ]
Reuters News said in August one of its Twitter accounts was hacked and false tweets were posted, mainly related to the armed struggle in Syria.

Robert J. Portman is a Republican Senator from the state of Ohio. He has made himself a target as an advocate of the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act), but we are truly disturbed by the ludicrous $272,853 he received from special interest groups supporting the NDAA bill that authorizes the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens on U.S. soil. Robert J. Portman, we plan to make an example of you.

Performance Trust Capital Partners Mr Walsh’s highest listed donor hired Capital Hill Consulting Group to Lobby congress on S.61 in 2009
        http://soprweb.senate.gov/index.cfm?event=getFilingDetails&filingID=49D1F550-E8EC-4EF7-A408-804E77B79298
This bill would have assisted homeowners in preventing the loss of their homes due to mortgage foreclosure.  After the Fed handed out trillions in low mortgage rate loans to high risk taking financial institutions - S.61 was shot down in congress before it ever made it to the floor.  Big finance YES - middle class homeowner - NO.  Overall Mr Walsh received over  $125,000 from Securities & Investment Firms and Insurance companies - his largest donors.  For a Tea Party populist, he sure likes the banks and the insurance companies.
        Here’s more on S.61
        http://annlawyer.com/component/content/article/45.html
The story about his child support issues are well known.  Mr Walsh claims that he had low income and had temporary housing stewardship of one the children during the disputed time.  These are facts which can be easily verified.  Did Mr Walsh have a court order to pay - if so did he make the payments?  Apparently he was ordered and did not pay.  Mr Walsh can (and is likely) making the argument that the payments shouldn’t have been as high as they were because of the issues above detailed - he might be right in that regard.  Mr Walsh states that over $2K a month is being automatically garnished from his account (sad that a sitting US congressman has to be made to pay support via garnishment).  It appears that there was a time that he was either ordered to pay or did not sufficiently have enough overnights to be considered shared custodial and was assessed the known $117K in arrears.  Also, there seems to be at least once where he failed to appear at a hearing.  It appears that he is in process of trying to lower that assessed figure (if he hasn’t already) while paying off the figure he owes.  Usually, when a non-custodial parent is in arrears a judge will increase the monthly in attempt to accelerate repayment.
In any event, $117K is a rather large figure to be in arrears for.  One has to surmise that for some period of time Mr Walsh did not make support payments to his ex-wife.  Even giving him the benefit of the doubt the period of time in which he failed to pay support could probably be measured in years.
If he got a verbal agreement with his ex-wife over support - then it’s his own fault for not getting the agreement signed and filed with the court.  Also if he did make payments outside a state disbursement unit and failed to save the cancelled checks - that’s also a measure of irresponsibility.
Any responsible father knows that child support must be paid if you are not the custodial parent.  Whether or not you get along with the mother is not a consideration.  I think constituents can reasonably come to the conclusion that at least for some extended period of time Joe Walsh did not make child support payments and was a deadbeat dad - verbal agreement or no.

representatives had named Monica Conyers as the recipient of bribes from the company totaling
more than $60,000, paid to influence passage of a contract with the City of Detroit. The information
was gathered during an FBI investigation into political corruption in the city. She was given a
pre-indictment letter, and offered a plea bargain deal in the case. On June 26, 2009,
she was charged with conspiring to commit bribery. She pleaded guilty. On March 10, 2010 she was
sentenced to 37 months in prison, and also received two years of supervised probation. She is appealing
the sentence. She began serving her term on September 10, 2010 at a minimum-security camp in
            Alderson, West Virginia
